Elvis fans are in for a treat when The King is back rock and rolls their way to Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (AECC) GE Oil & Gas Arena on 12th November 2017. Multi-talented musician, singer and songwriter, Ben Portsmouth has had Elvis DNA in his blood from an early age with his father being an avid Elvis fan. Ben grew up on a diet of Elvis songs and honing his musical talent, Ben started his journey as an Elvis tribute act in 2005 when he formed the “Taking Care of Elvis” band.
Ben’s talent saw him rapidly rise through the ranks of Elvis tribute acts in the UK and has since won accolades including ‘Best Elvis’ at the prestigious International Elvis Festival, the largest of its kind in Europe and going on to represent Europe in the “Images of the King” contest in Memphis where Ben was crowned the champion by the judges and public which was shortly followed by being named the “Worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist” at the Elvis Presley Enterprises ‘Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest’.
Anna Mackenzie, Senior Sales Manager at AECC said “We are honoured to have Ben and Taking Care of Elvis at AECC for ‘The King is Back’ next year, adding to what is already a fantastic line up of acts including The Sessions and Russell Howard.”
Humble and down to earth, Ben can’t believe he gets the opportunity to entertain as an Elvis Tribute Artist and play to crowds of thousands all over the world. With his triple octave vocal range and guitar skills, Ben Portsmouth will bring his unique style, charisma and 10 piece band to Aberdeen to show audiences why he is regarded as the best in the business.
