TV presenter Lorraine Kelly is set to officially open this year’s Scottish Home Show (SHS) 2014, cutting the ribbon at the AECC (Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre) GE Oil and Gas Arena on Friday 26th September 2014.
Xcite Media Ltd, event organisers behind the Scottish Home Show (SHS) 2014, expects this year’s home improvement exhibition, which runs until 29th September, to be the biggest yet.
Darren Ross, director for Xcite Media, says: “We are thrilled to have secured Lorraine to officially open this years Scottish Home Show. Lorraine is a trustee for the STV appeal, which we have chosen as our charity of choice for all of our events in 2014.
“We will be providing STV Appeal with free space and fundraising opportunities throughout the weekend to help make a real difference to people in Scotland. The STV appeal provides practical help like food and warm clothes; creating opportunities for training and employability; and enabling social and emotional support for those who need it most.
“Lorraine will also try her hand at one of the cooking demonstrations, she already has great experience with this from her show so we are sure she will help whip up a storm in the kitchen!
“We are expecting record visitor numbers to this year’s show. Confirmed exhibitors already include big brand names AGA, Baxters Food Group, Costco, Bo Concept, Town and Country Apartments and John Lewis. We are also really looking forward to our other celebrity guest appearances, including Tommy Walsh – best known for his role in gardening renovations hit TV series, Ground Force and Linda Barker, home improvement TV presenter and talented interior designer.
“With new exhibitors secured and changes to the layout of the show, we are excited to gain feedback from all of our valued visitors. We can’t wait to make our 2014 show the best one yet.”
Premium homebuilder Dandara, renowned across the north-east and wider UK for its high quality new communities – including Hazelwood and Stoneywood, Aberdeen – and commercial property, has committed its support to the event as main sponsor.
Gillian Roberts, sales manager for Dandara in Aberdeen, says: “Lorraine will bring even more personality to this year’s Scottish Home Show – I’m sure her arrival to officially open the event will encourage an even bigger turnout on the opening day.”
From some of the most luxurious home and garden merchandise, to innovative new technology, gadgets, garden designs, conservatories, and the latest home interior designs, kitchens and bathrooms, the SHS will showcase best products and design associated with the home improvements market.
