Australian musician, songwriter and comedian Tim Minchin has just confirmed he will tour the UK with his biggest live show to date and will appear at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (AECC’s) Press & Journal Arena on 19th April 2011. The tour promises to include brand new songs as well as the much loved Minchin classics, but this time the show will have its own 55 piece orchestra!
Brian Horsburgh, Managing Director of AECC said, “We are so pleased to announce that another international act will be appearing at the AECC. Tim Minchin’s show is a great addition to an already impressive line up of concerts and shows already confirmed for the year. Tim’s unique style of entertainment will definitely have the North East fans excited.”
The UK based artist is well known for performing to sell-out crowds around the world. Tim is currently writing music and lyrics for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s new musical version of Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’ which opens in Stratford-upon-Avon in November 2010. He’s also performed on radio; his most recent project being ‘Strings’, a brand new comedy sitcom pilot for BBC Radio 2, which he both wrote and starred in and his acclaimed 9-minute beat poem, ‘Storm’ is being animated for release in October.
