Success at Inaugural AGCC Event

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) recently played host to the inaugural ‘The Ultimate Business Show’, organised by Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC).

The sell out show saw 75 local exhibitors showcasing their products, services and solutions to businesses in the North-East. A series of fantastic seminar sessions took place throughout the day, aimed at providing the right tools and knowledge to secure new business and raise company profiles.

A seminar from Russell Borthwick, Chief Executive at AGCC, urged businesses to support the regional economy by promoting and celebrating local commerce. With tens of millions of pounds spent annually by local companies in the region, Borthwick spoke of the current climate and how the regional economy is feeling the pinch making it more important than ever to spend locally.

With networking at the heart of all AGCC events, The Ultimate Business Show featured dedicated networking areas for members and non-members to catch up with clients and connect with some of Aberdeen city and shire’s high profile businesses.

Chief executive of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce Russell Borthwick said: “The Ultimate Business Show proved a great success, not least in its aim to promote and celebrate commerce in North-east Scotland.

“It brought together 75 of the highest profile businesses in the region who are ready and willing to talk about how they can help other companies work differently, smarter, provide solutions and save money.

“The show presented the perfect platform for attendees to source products or services locally that can help save them money, while helping keep the North-East economy buoyant.

“At a time when the regional economy is feeling the draught from the oil and gas sector downturn, it is more important than ever that we ‘Think North-East First’.”

Interim Managing Director at AECC, Graeme Cumming commented on the success of the event, “AECC have a great working relationship with the team at AGCC, having worked together on numerous Business Breakfasts and the Chambers flagship event; The Northern Star Business Awards, and we are glad to have been a part of the inaugural Ultimate Business Show.”
