We are currently seeking an HR/Senior HR Adviser to join our Team:

Job Description:

TITLE:                                    HR/Senior HR Adviser

REPORTING TO:                Finance Director

WORKING HOURS:         3 days per week (but flexibility may be considered)

JOB PROFILE:                     Responsible for the development and delivery of operational HR plans and for providing a professional HR advisory and support service to the business.

Main Duties:

  • Works closely with senior management to plan, develop and implement HR plans, policies and practices which support business objectives and enhance employee engagement, covering both the permanent staff and the casual labour force.
  • Provides specialist advice, support and guidance to management on all aspects of operational HR policy, employment legislation and HR best practice.  Ensures a consistent approach is taken to application of HR policies and procedures across the business.
  • Ensures HR-related documentation, policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, developed and implemented in line with legal developments and HR best practice.
  • Develops/maintains appropriate HR administration and information systems and ensures all HR administration activities are undertaken in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Prepares HR reports, data and information for management as required.
  • Provides support and guidance to line managers in relation to managing performance issues, handling disciplinary/grievance matters, etc.
  • Manages the recruitment, selection and induction processes and ensures the Company’s recruitment and resourcing plans are executed.
  • Co-ordinates the Company’s appraisal process and ensures training and development needs are identified and actioned.
  • Takes a lead role in the management of ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives.
  • Reviews pay/salary and benefits provisions and other terms and conditions of employment to ensure the Company is able to recruit and retain skilled and competent personnel.
  • Identifies and develops highly effective relationships with HR service providers e.g. recruitment consultants, HR consultants, training providers and ensures the quality and value of services and products provided.
  • Assists with the provision of market intelligence for the Remuneration Committee.
  • Assumes ownership for the Investors in People (IIP) process within the business.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Member or Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or equivalent, or working towards CIPD qualification.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in an operational HR role.
  • Experience of developing and implementing HR procedures/processes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and best HR practice.
  • Knowledge of the IIP process is preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Well-developed time management/organisation skills.
  • Ability to deliver a high level of HR service to the business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT literate; HR systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
