Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) were delighted to be chosen as the venue for this year’s Scottish Offshore Wind Conference and Exhibition. The successful two-day event, which concludes today, was attended by European business leaders in oil and gas renewables as well as Scotland’s First Minister, Alex Salmond.
Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond confirmed the Scottish Government’s support for this promising energy saving industry. The 2011 event attracted more delegates and exhibitors than last year with over 450 delegates and 43 exhibiting companies making the most of the opportunity to meet and network.
Calum McCallum, Director of Business Development for Scottish Renewables, was pleased to bring this event to Aberdeen again, commenting, “This is a fantastic opportunity for Aberdeen, and the local experience in oil and gas operations has established the city as one of the most influential, innovative and proactive energy cities in the world. With many leading international energy companies based in Aberdeen it is the ideal location for this large energy conference.”
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director added, “In the last year there have been major investment decisions from many companies to develop their offshore business in Scotland. We are delighted to bring such a high caliber event to the city. We hope to continue this relationship in the future.”
