Scottish Kids Show to Launch at GE Oil & Gas Arena

Toys, Treats, Teething and Tantrum Advice

New parents, family members, or those looking for a fantastic gift for someone young, will be in for a treat in June 2014 at the GE Oil & Gas Arena at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC). Gavin Esslemont and Darren Ross, the Directors and Organisers behind the Aberdeen-based home improvement exhibition, The Scottish Home Show, are to expand their portfolio of events with the launch of a dedicated children’s show – set to debut on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June, 2014.

The inaugural exhibition, known as the Scottish Kids Show, will showcase everything from pre-natal products and services for mums and dads to be, as well as toys, gadgets, gift ideas and advice for children right through their development – from the young toddler, right up to 16 years old. The organisers hope to attract over 8, 000 visitors and over 150 exhibitors.

Gavin Esslemont comments on the decision to launch the show, “We have been thinking about launching a show specifically dedicated to the children’s market for some time. Having conducted approximately six months of market research, and building on the success of our second Scottish Home Show which took place in September, we have had amazing feedback to the Kids Show so far. We are confident that it will prove to be a big hit.

“It is estimated that on average it costs £222, 458 to bring up a child in 2013 to the age of 21. The market is absolutely massive, but we want to show that it doesn’t have to cost the earth. Whilst we will showcase some of the more extravagant products and services for children, we will also ensure we cater for those who are sticking to a strict budget. It’s also a great opportunity for businesses to highlight products and services to people interested, and passionate about family life.

“We are really excited about what we have ahead of us for next year. With the Scottish Home Show already booked for 26-28 September at the GE Oil & Gas Arena,  AECC and the Trades Awards set for June – the team has a lot of hard work ahead of us!”

Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director comments, “We are extremely pleased that the Scottish Home Show team are launching this new consumer exhibition in Aberdeen. The second Scottish Home Show last month was a great success and we are looking forward to working with their team to deliver another great show for North East families.”
