Scottish Home Show Returns To Aberdeen This Weekend
Home improvement enthusiasts will have the chance to snap up essential industry insider tips this weekend to help make sure their properties, interiors and gardens become the envy of the neighbourhood. The Scottish Homes Show (SHS) returns to the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) this weekend (Fri 27th, Sat 28th and Sun 29th September 2013) and will be twice as big as it’s inaugural show last year.
Show times are:
Tickets are available on the door – Adults – £10.00, Concessions – £7.50 and Under 15’s – FREE.
The SHS, which is running over three days for the very first time, will be jam-packed with exhibitors such as big brand names AGA, B&Q, Bo Concept and John Lewis. From new homes, some of the most luxurious home and garden merchandise, to innovative new technology, gadgets, garden designs, conservatories, and the latest home interior designs, kitchens and bathrooms, the SHS will showcase best products and design associated with the home improvements market.
Those looking for advice on how to extend, renovate or update their homes, inside or outdoors, will also benefit from the show’s celebrity guest appearances. These include TV personality and former BBC Changing Rooms presenter Carol Smillie, and Tommy Walsh – best known for his role in gardening renovations hit TV series, Ground Force. Both will host a selection of handy DIY demonstrations throughout the weekend. For those with a culinary flair, Kevin Shand of Braehead Foods will be conducting live cookery demonstrations.
Darren Ross, Director of the SHS 2013 comments, “We are really pleased to be able to bring the SHS back to the AECC, and delighted that this year, due to demand, we have been able to extend the length and size of the show over the weekend.
“Last year saw a fantastic attendance of approximately 8, 000 visitors, exceeding all our expectations, however with more exhibitors this year, and the show taking up the entire P&J Arena this year, we are hopeful for around a 25% increase in attendance this weekend. We will welcome almost 200 exhibitors, and as well as the national big names, this is also a great chance to support local businesses. We even have bakery demonstrations from Dean’s of Huntly and a Ferrari Spyder 458 coming along – so there’s really something for everyone.
“We are naturally very excited about the show and we would be delighted if people came along from all around Scotland to help support the North-East.”
The SHS has selected local cancer support services CLAN, which provides support to those living with cancer and their families, and UCAN that provides vital awareness and comfort to those affected by urological cancers, as its show raffle ticket and fundraising beneficiaries.
