Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) are delighted to announce that Routes Europe have chosen Aberdeen City and Shire and the AECC as the destination for their 2015 Conference which will be held from the 12th – 14th April 2015.

Routes 2015 will be the 10th Route Development Forum for the European Region and will attract airline route development professionals from all corners of Europe, as well as those with an interest in the European market.  It provides a platform for airlines, airports and other stakeholders to meet, present market opportunities and negotiate, and is a fantastic win for Aberdeen City and Shire.

The 10th Anniversary of Routes Europe is expected to attract 950 delegates into the area and representatives from 100-120 airlines and around 350 airports to this prestigious event which recognises that air service development is a partnership between airlines, airports, tourism authorities and economic development agencies.

This Conference win is the first event secured by Team Aberdeen for the North-East of Scotland.  The Team Aberdeen approach, launched earlier this year, sees an integrated partnership of key industry partners helping to encourage event organisers to hold their major events in the area.

Previous host Cities of Routes Europe include: Warsaw, Sofia, Porto, Prague, Toulouse, Calgary, and Tallinn.  The 2013 Routes Europe event takes place in Budapest next month with Marseille set to play host in 2014.

Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director, commented: “To host the 10th Anniversary Conference, Routes Europe 2015, is brilliant for Aberdeen and surrounding areas.  It is the largest Route Development Conference in Europe and will bring key decision makers into the area.  This event was secured by the new Team Aberdeen bidding group, working in close co-operation with Team Scotland.  Aberdeen, initially shortlisted with three other European destinations, finally won through with a strong committed team approach.”
