Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) are excited to announce the two local bands who will be playing at the ‘Granite Rocks’ gig at the venue this New Year’s Eve. A fantastic line-up of live music is planned for Hogmanay 2011 which will be held indoors at AECC’s Press & Journal Arena on Saturday 31st December 2011!
Joining indie rock band White Lies and Dundee five-piece band The View, are local Aberdeen band The Little Kicks, a four-piece band who are becoming well known for their distinctly catchy upbeat indie pop songs combined with their reputation for a great live show. With several UK tours under their belt as well as performances at festivals including T in the Park, Belladrum, Inside and Connect. The Little Kicks will be rocking AECC!
The second local band playing at Granite Rocks is The Tijuana Sun, a five-piece indie rock band, who regularly play in Aberdeen venues including the Beach Ballroom, and have an upcoming show with Shaun Ryder of the acclaimed bands Happy Mondays and Black Grape in November. These two local bands add to the line-up for the gig and will play a big part in giving the North-East a Hogmanay to remember.
Brian Horsburgh, Managing Director at AECC said, “We are delighted to be showcasing local homegrown talent in the line-up at Granite Rocks. These bands are part of the Aberdeen music scene and it is important to us to support talent in our community in this way.”
