One of pops hottest girl groups, Little Mix, have announced they will be bringing their 2016 tour to Aberdeen on 12th April following the success of their new Album, Get Weird.
The quirky quartet were formed exclusively during the eighth series of X Factor and became the first group to win the competition. Following their success, they were signed to Syco Music and their debut album DNA was released in November 2012 which charted in the top five in eight countries.
The record breakers were the first girl group since The Pussycat Dolls to reach the top five in the US Album Charts with their debut album and broke a record held by the Spice Girls for earning the highest debut US chart position by a British group. Since forming, the band has gone on to sell over seven million records and achieve a second platinum album, ‘Salute’.
Get Weird was released earlier this month with the first single, ‘Black Magic’, spending three consecutive weeks at the number one spot in the UK making them the first girl group to have a number one remain there for longer than one week.
Anna Mackenzie, AECC’s Senior Sales Manager, said, “The ‘Mixers’ of Aberdeen will be over the moon with this announcement! The success of Get Weird has been huge and we are delighted that the band will be coming to visit us in Aberdeen for the first time.”
