Let AECC Entertain You This Winter Season!

The GE Oil & Gas Arena stage is rocking this winter with November and December packed full of some of the finest entertainment acts gracing the stage at the venue, whether it be for the first time or a record breaking twelfth time (here’s looking at you, Status Quo!).

Kevin Bridges FeatureKicking it off with Kevin Bridges who will return to AECC following six sold out performances in October. The funny Glaswegian rocked the house with his observational comedy with stories from day-to-day life or on a more serious note of politics and the Scottish referendum result. Whilst Bridges was here, he was the first act to sign the AECC Wall of Fame! Tickets for the November dates are sold out however, keep an eye on AECC social media for any tickets which may be released nearer the shows.

Prodigy Feature_featureEssex ravers,   The Prodigy will be rocking it out in the GE Oil & Gas Arena for the first time on Sunday 22nd November with support from Public Enemy. The English electronic dance music group will be performing as part of their ‘The Day is My Enemy’ Tour following on from the album, released in March 2015.

Michael_Mcintyre_FeatureMichael McIntyre has already proved his popularity by selling out two nights at AECC on 24th & 25th November. The best selling comedian has broken records in his career, spanning over a decade, with his 2008 DVD ‘Live and Laughing’ being the biggest selling UK debut stand-up DVD of its time. After spending some time in front of the camera with his chat show, Michael McIntyre’s Chat Show, for BBC1, the funny man will be returning to the stage in what promises to be his biggest and funniest tour yet.

The Proclaimers FeatureCharlie and Craig Reid, more well-known as The Proclaimers will entertain crowds of Aberdeen when they return to the GE Oil & Gas Arena on Saturday 28th November. The brothers, famous for anthems such as ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), ‘Letter From America’ and ‘I’m On My Way’ will be performing in the city for the first time since 2009 and this will be their fourth time performing at the venue.

Simple Minds‘Don’t you forget about’ Simple Minds! Following the response from the bands tour at the beginning of the year, they announced four very special arena shows for November 2015 with special guests, The Stranglers. These two fantastic bands will be performing at the GE Oil & Gas Arena on Tuesday 1st December.

Status QThe band which holds the record for the most amount of times any act has appeared on stage at AECC is Status Quo and they are due to break their own record when they head back to the Granite City on Wednesday 2nd December for the 12th time! Speaking of the ‘Accept No Substitutes’ Tour, singer and guitarist of the band, Rick Parfitt, said “I guess the name of the tour speaks for itself, but this is full-throttle, no-nonsense Status Quo!”.

The joyful sound of soul music and Mick Hucknall’s voice will be resonating through the GE Oil & Gas Arena on Sunday 6th December. After bursting on to the scene in 1985, SimplyRed_FeatureSimply Red have recorded a string of classic, landmark albums that defined British R’n’B throughout the 80’s and 90’s and they are now back with their ‘Big Love’ tour.

The ‘King of Waltz’, Andre Rieu FeatureAndre Rieu, will be performing with his Johann Strauss Orchestra on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th December. Lose yourself on a musical journey around the world with Rieu’s colourful and upbeat concert. Speaking of the show, Andre Rieu commented: “We celebrate a big party every night together. I see so many happy faces each night in front of me and this proves that classical music is for everyone…”.

Texas FeatureTexas will celebrate their milestone anniversary of 25 years together as a band in style with a UK tour and a stop off in Aberdeen on Saturday 19th December. The band have seen huge success with the release of their album ‘Texas 25’ which celebrates the very best of the multi-million selling, Ivor Novello Award winning band, which went straight to number five in the UK album charts.
