We are thrilled to tell you that Tommy Walsh will be back at the show this year! Tommy has been a huge supporter of The Scottish Home Show and it wouldn’t be the same without him. Tommy will be with us on Saturday and Sunday. You will find him pottering around the show so if you have questions for our resident home improvement expert make sure you come and see him.
This year we are bringing an all new catering concept to The Scottish Home Show. ’Food Street’ will bring street style food to the show for the first time. With food ranging from pizza from a pizza oven to pulled pork and burgers there will be something for everyone. Coupled with our Food & Drink exhibitors and the samples they will be handing out then you certainly won’t go hungry!
The demo kitchen returns to the home show this year and we are delighted that this will be hosted by local chef Kevin Shand. Kevin will be on the kitchen all weekend, joined by a variety of guests, whilst he prepared some amazing Scottish dishes using locally sourced ingredients. We like the look of the Scotch Beef Bridie and Local Smoked Haddock Rarebit sessions but check out the demo schedule to see what takes your fancy.
The demo schedule is now live in our Scottish Home Show app so you can plan your visit around the sessions you want to attend. If you are yet to download the app just visit your app store and search for ‘Scottish Home Show’. Tickets can also be purchased through the app but don’t forget we still have an offer running on ITISON so you might prefer to nip over to that and save yourself a few pounds.
All meat used in Kevin’s demos will be supplied by McWilliam Butchers & Butcher at the Brig. All Fish & Shellfish has will be supplied by Sutherlands of Portsoy.
We launched our 2017 demo kitchen schedule at the end of last week and some of you may have noticed a few new sessions… this year we will be introducing you to The Scottish Home Show’s version of Saturday Kitchen Live!
On Saturday 30 September our demo kitchen host Kevin Shand will be joined by Craig Wilson (The Kilted Chef of Eat on the Green) who will be cooking for Tommy Walsh and one of you at the chef’s table. Will Tommy get to either enjoy his food heaven, braised cheek of beef complete with local whisky & pink peppercorn cream served with clapshot, or have to try his food hell, haggis, cardamon & chilli kofta? We will be letting you decide! On Sunday 1st October Kevin and Tommy will go head to head in the battle to cook the perfect steak!
Don’t forget to download The Scottish Home Show App from your app store to access the full demo schedule.
We are thrilled to announce that we will be joined this year by a number of Royal Warrant holders in our all new, Scottish Home Show first, Royal Warrant Zone.
A Royal Warrant of Appointment is a mark of recognition of those who have supplied goods or services to the Households of HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Prince of Wales for at least five years, and who have an ongoing trading arrangement. The Royal Warrant is the document that appoints the company in its trading capacity, and is granted to a named individual, known as the Grantee. The Warrant gives the Grantee permission, and responsibility, for the display of the relevant Royal Arms in connection with their business.
The Royal Warrant Holders confirmed to be joining us so far are:
Balgownie Limited – Bell Decorating Group – Connon Brothers – Glencraft – Howdens Joinery – Roy Cowie Landscaping – Stagecoach – Walkers Shortbread Ltd
The Royal Warrant Zone will be found in the middle of the arena, so make sure you come and see these iconic British businesses.
We are thrilled to announce that we have a very special exhibitor joining us at the show this year. Well, he isn’t exactly an exhibitor in the traditional sense of the word, he is an adventurer who will be in the arena showing off his endurance skills…
Dean Stott is a former British Special Forces Soldier who will be undertaking the monumental challenge of cycling the Pan-American Highway in 2018. The current world record for this stands at 117 days. This is a ride that will last 3 months and see Dean cycle through extreme weather and across multiple borders, he is hoping to take 7 days off the record. He will be doing this all in the in the aid of charity…
Dean is an ambassador and supporter of The Special Boat Service Association. He is the very proud Scottish representative for the charity.
He will also be raising money for Heads Together Campaign, having been asked by HRH Prince Harry to lend his support to the campaign. Heads Together is a mental health campaign led by the Royal Foundation aimed at challenging the stigma of mental health.
Dean will be joining us on a bike at the show and cycling for the duration of the show! He will also have another bike with him so you can get involved too! At the show Dean will specifically be raising money for the Heads Together Campaign and we hope you can pop along and show both him and the charity your support.
Watch the video below to find out all about the incredible challenge that lies ahead for him.
