Comedy superstar John Bishop is set to return to Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (AECC) GE Oil & Gas Arena on 18th and 19th October 2017 with his long awaited return to stand-up comedy and brand new live show, ‘Winging It’
The comedian who is also known for his charity work and being a keen footballer, has been on the comedy scene since 2006 has went from strength to strength from starting out on the Manchester comedy circuit to now hosting his own TV show ‘John Bishop: In Conversation With…’ which sees him chatting with some of the UK’s biggest names from the world of entertainment, sport and music plus winning numerous comedy awards
On announcing ‘Winging It’, John said: “When I start this new tour, it will be three years since my last live show Supersonic, which is the longest break I’ve ever had. I’m very much looking forward to getting back on the road – there really is nothing like performing stand-up in front of a live audience. The new show is called Winging It, and in some respects having come to comedy relatively late, it sometimes feels like that’s what I’m doing in life! But I’m enjoying every minute of it.”
The tour will see John back on stage for his fifth UK tour, performing in his own style. His last tour ‘Supersonic’ was watched by more than 500, 000 people and received huge critical acclaim. ‘Rollercoaster’ in 2012 was another sell out, and followed the successes of his ‘Sunshine’ tour in 2011 and the ‘Elvis Has Left the Building’ show in 2010, for which he was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Senior Sales Manager at AECC, Anna Mackenzie said, “It’s great to see John Bishop returning to the city as part of his 2017 tour. The last time he was here in 2011, his Aberdeen fans made him feel very welcome and we are sure his two-date stop in 2017 will be no different.”
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday 6th October at 10am from www.ticketmaster.co.uk/AECC or 08444 77 9000.
