On behalf of the International Council, let me convey our enthusiasm and pleasure in accepting the bid of Aberdeen to host an ICMAN Conference in September of 2017. The Secretary of the International Council and I much enjoyed our visit to Aberdeen and were very impressed by the high standards of the people and facilities who will make this meeting an outstanding contribution to innovation and collaboration in healthcare and the life sciences. We believe that the contribution of Aberdeen will also extend beyond the 2017 conference itself and include a legacy of international cooperation that will generate benefits for global health for many years to come. We look forward to working closely with the local organising committee at the beginning of next month. Let me add personal wishes on behalf of Dr. Gall Troselj and myself to return soon and often to beautiful Aberdeen.- Aaron Etra,  Director of ICMAN

Securing this conference for Aberdeen will continue to help improve the city’s ranking in the statistics from the International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA). Since 2010, the city has experienced an increase in the number of international conferences by nearly 50%, based on the most recent report.

Welcoming this conference to Aberdeen is another great addition to our conference calendar and not only that it is an achievement which will allow us to showcase the research that is available in the city and the expertise that is at hand in the field. Increasing the city’s ranking is a fantastic result and will hopefully place Aberdeen on the map as a host to many more internationals conferences. – Louise Lonie,  Director of Sales and Marketing at AECC
