Don’t worry about getting home afterwards the Gig’n’Go bus service will take you back in to the City Centre to continue the party or head off home!  In addition to this, First Aberdeen will be running their Night Service (nearest bus-stop on North Donside Road (00.16, 00.33, 01.03, 02.03, 03.03) and at the Gordon Barracks, the Number 1 Night Service will take revelers safely back to the City Centre, before going on to Garthdee (as part of their usual route).

As a first of its kind event, Granite Rocks aims to provide a night to remember for the music fans in the North-East and beyond.  The doors open at 6.30pm with music from local band The Tijuana Sun kicking the night off at 7pm,  followed by The Little Kicks another band hailing from the Granite City.

Northsound 1’s Greiggsy will be there all night keeping revelers entertained, with a great mix of songs to keep everyone in the party spirit in between acts!

White Lies take to the stage followed by Twin Atlantic to entertain the crowd, before The View play the North-East into 2012 with the added special appearance of a traditional Scottish piper at the bells!

Brian Horsburgh, Managing Director at AECC says: “Granite Rocks is gaining momentum and ticket sales are going well.  Where else can you see five great bands for only £20 this Hogmanay?  We can’t wait to bring in the New Year with such a line up of great music acts.”

Granite Rocks runs this Hogmanay from 6.30pm until 1.30am and will be held indoors at the AECC’s Press and Journal Arena on Saturday 31st December 2011.  There will be unreserved seating in place for anyone who has weary feet from all the rocking!

Also available on the night will be hot food options from a range of catering units operating on a cash payment basis.

This event is the first of its kind for Hogmanay in Aberdeen and provides a great opportunity for people to get together to celebrate New Year in a warm and safe environment with great music!
