Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is pleased to announce that youth development project ‘Hedzup Racing’ will be exhibiting at Wheels 2013 on Sunday 21st April.
The Hedzup Racing project started in 2009, working with young people through the formation of a motorcycle road racing team to attain genuine and usable life skills such as trust and self confidence which may, for whatever reason, have passed them by. The project provides young people with the opportunity to meet people and become part of something which promotes enjoyment and ambition.
On Sunday Hedzup will showcase an array of bikes the project has built, bringing along members of the project to share their stories of involvement with Hedzup, including preparation for competing in this year’s Classic TT and the Manx Grand Prix.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director commented: “We are delighted to have the Hedzup youth development project coming along to Wheels 2013. The project provides a great opportunity for young people to work together as a team to achieve a common goal, inspiring others to take part in similar projects.”
Geoff Runcie, one of the AECC non-executive Directors commented: “I came across Hedzup two years ago and immediately recognised the great work they were doing with young people and how the initiative had inspired and enthused them about teamwork and about motorbikes. I am delighted that others will get to see this excellent work at our new Wheels event.”
Wheels 2013 will take place on Sunday 21st April from 10am – 4pm at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Whether you are interested in motorbikes, cycles, cars, Segways, quads or looking for an action packed family day out, Wheels 2013 is shaping up to be a great event for all!
