Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) are excited to announce that Gary Barlow will be playing the AECC Arena on 11th January 2013!
Due to phenomenal demand, eight extra January dates have been added to Gary’s UK Tour schedule including one in Aberdeen! The tour, which started last week in Bournemouth, sold out within 20 minutes of going on-sale last month and follows his two critically acclaimed solo shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London last year. The extra January dates (on-sale Friday 23rd November) see Gary heading to the AECC Aberdeen, as well as Glasgow, Leicester, Southend, London, Brighton, and Scarborough before culminating with a show at Manchester O2 Apollo on Sunday 20th January.
“I’m really excited about these dates. Playing live is my favourite thing and I haven’t played a solo show for over a year now. Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, we all had such a good time, so I thought right let’s get out and see the rest of the country!” said Gary Barlow.
After 20 years in the business, over 50 million records sold, eight No.1 albums, fourteen No.1 singles, seven million concert tickets sold and six Ivor Novello Awards, Gary Barlow is regarded as one of Britain’s most successful singer-songwriters. Together with Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams he is also a member of one of the biggest British bands of all time – Take That.
Gary was recently named in the Queen’s birthday honours list and was awarded an OBE for his huge contribution to British music as well as his significant charitable endeavours. Gary recently organised the hugely successful Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace, gathering together some of the biggest names from the last 60 years to perform including: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Robbie
Williams, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Shirley Bassey, and Grace Jones. Gary currently sits as Head Judge on the UK’s No 1 show The X Factor for the second year running, the live show of which is at AECC on 19th February 2013.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director commented: “We are delighted that Gary Barlow will be performing at the AECC and are sure his fans in the North-East will be thrilled to have the chance to see such a prolific performer live in concert! It is a wonderful show to kick-off a year of fantastic live music at the Venue.”
Tickets for the show are on general sale from Friday the 23rd November at 9.30am priced at £35, £45 and £55 plus booking fee and are available from Ticketmaster on 08444 77 9000 or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
