9th Annual DEVEX Conference Draws Record Number of Top Geologists, Geophysicists and Engineers to the Energy Capital of Europe

The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) are gearing up to welcome hundreds of scientists and oil and gas experts from across UK and Europe to the 9th annual DEVEX European Production and Development Conference.

Held this week (9th and 10th of May 2012), DEVEX Conference and Exhibition is run jointly by the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB), the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES).

DEVEX 2012 is designed for geologists, geo-physicists, petro-physicists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production technologists, well engineers and drilling engineers.  As a key knowledge-sharing event for the oil and gas industry, leaders will pass on their experience and knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurialism in the sector throughout the event.

Jason White, DEVEX 2012 Chairman says: “Now in its ninth year, the conference is well established and is going from strength to strength. I firmly believe this year’s event will be another great success.  He adds: “Our theme this year ‘Creativity and Innovation in Field Exploitation’ is immensely important to the future success of the Oil and Gas industry and the presentations and posters will show just how healthy the industry is in that respect.

“We have 44 high quality presentations from some of the biggest and smallest names in the industry; each will address a specific aspect of field exploitation and all will aim to educate and stimulate.  One of the great strengths of DEVEX is the diverse nature of the talks, bound together by the common thread of Field Exploitation.”

Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director says: “This important annual conference is a key event in our annual calendar and as the National Energy Exhibition Centre we are pleased to welcome the DEVEX Committee and Delegates again for the ninth year.”
