27 years on from their debut album release, Scottish Pop Rock Band, Deacon Blue, will be taking to the stage of the GE Oil & Gas Arena on 3rd December.
Well known for hits such as ‘Dignity’, ‘Real Gone Kid’ and ‘Fergus Sings the Blues’, the band were formed in Glasgow in 1985 and released their first album ‘Raintown’ which was aimed around the struggles of life in the inner city of Glasgow and propelled the band in to the spotlight.
Following an amazing 12 UK Top 40 singles and two number ones, the band split to pursue various careers in the media, arts and academia. The groups fans were quick to delight at the release of ‘The Hipsters’ in 2012 which shot the Glasgow band straight in to the charts yet again. Since this success, the band went on to play T in The Park in 2013 and a very successful show at the Royal Albert Hall.
Anna Mackenzie, Senior Sales Manager at AECC said, “It’s fantastic to see Deacon Blue return to the stage of the GE Oil & Gas Arena. The band have previously been here in 1990 and again in 2007 and hold a strong fan base in the North-east.
