Team AECC have raised a fantastic total of £5, 300 so far for their Charity of the Year, Friends of Anchor; with some exciting events taking place in the last month…
In the last week of the school holidays, AECC opened its doors to the iconic Northern Light Tower, which is usually out of bounds to the public, giving visitors the chance to visit the highest viewing point in Aberdeen.
The Tower Open Day gave locals and visitors to Aberdeen City and Shire the unique opportunity to view the city from a whole new perspective; enjoying a 360-degree view with breath-taking views of the sea, city and countryside. Over 650 visitors took the journey up the 131ft high tower raising an astonishing £1, 330 for Friends of Anchor.
Additionally, two teams from AECC took part in the Anchor Wipeout, which takes place annually in the city’s Hazlehead Park, taking on a giant inflatable course to raise money for the charity. Over the course of the weekend, many teams from across the North-East competed in the event, raising an incredible £25, 000. Next year’s event will be taking place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August 2017 and you can book now to take part buy visiting www.friendsofanchor.org.
