Bring in the New Year at AECC!

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) are excited to announce ‘Granite Rocks’: a fantastic line-up of live music for Hogmanay 2011 which will be held at AECC’s Press & Journal Arena on Saturday 31st December 2011!

What better way to bring in the New Year, than with thousands of other music fans in Aberdeen’s favourite music venue?  Doors open at 6.30pm with live acts playing until after midnight!

Confirmed for Granite Rocks is indie rock band White Lies whose hits include “Bigger Than Us”, “Farewell to the Fairground” and many more, from their number one debut album “To Lose My Life…” and their latest release “Ritual”, which reached number 3 in the album charts.

Scottish five piece The View will also be playing at Granite Rocks.  Hailing from Dundee, The View is one of the most exciting live acts to have emerged from Scotland
in recent years.  With three Top 20 albums under their belts, The View promise a great set list which is sure to include hits such as “Same Jeans” and the more recent “Grace”.

They will be joined by a further three acts, including some of Aberdeen’s homegrown talent, which will be announced soon.

Brian Horsburgh, Managing Director at AECC said, “We are absolutely delighted to host an event of this magnitude,  Hogmanay is always widely celebrated in Scotland and we are pleased to offer music fans in the North East of Scotland the chance to bring in the New Year indoors at AECC.”

“Granite Rocks is a great concept for Aberdeen and gives music fans a great oportunity to see some amazing live music, at a poignant date in everyone’s calendar.  We will be announcing more acts in the run up to the event, which is now less than three months away!”
