Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) are excited to announce that Biffy Clyro will be returning to rock the AECC Arena on 31st March 2013!
Originally from Kilmarnock, childhood friends Simon Neil (vocals/guitar) and twins James (bass/vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums/vocals) formed the now famous Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro in 1995 while still at school.
With five albums already released, the band are currently promoting their forthcoming sixth album “Opposites” which is due for release in January 2013. Shooting to fame after their fourth album “Puzzle” (released in 2007) achieved Platinum sales closely followed by their fifth album “Only Revolutions” which achieved UK Top Ten Singles with ‘Mountains’, ‘That Golden Rule’ and ‘Many of Horror’.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director commented: “It is fantastic that Biffy Clyro are set to return to the AECC Arena, they received a great response when playing here in November 2010 with the audience warmly welcoming the Scottish band. The line-up for 2013 is brilliant, with March boasting an eclectic mix of shows by The Script, Jessie J, Olly Murs, The Harlem Globetrotters and, now also, Biffy Clyro!”
Having last year supported Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro are about to embark upon an intimate tour of Europe throughout November visiting: Germany, Sweden, Norway and Holland.
The band will also be recording a special Radio 1 Maida Vale Session on Thursday 25th October which will be co-hosted by Zane Lowe and Daniel P Carter.
Tickets for the show are on general sale from Friday the 26th October at 9am priced at £28.50 plus booking fee and are available from Ticketmaster on 08444 77 9000 or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
