Business is booming at the Venue! We welcomed 41 events and almost 10, 000 visitors to the Venue throughout the month which was our busiest April at AECC since 2009!
Having hosted a diverse range events which included Routes Europe, VisitScotland Expo, the Betway Premier League Darts, Energy Cities Annual Conference, the Aberdeen Whisky Festival and the Scotland Franchise Show!
In partnership with Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen International Airport, we welcomed delegates from all over the world to AECC for the 10th annual Routes Europe; which is the first time the event has been held in the UK. Around 1, 100 delegates from the aviation and tourism industries flocked to Aberdeen for the three day event on 12th-14th April. This was a fantastic event for the City and welcomed numerous airlines to Aberdeen to meet with the most influential aviation professionals from across the world.
Now in its 11th season, the Betway Premier League Darts was held at our GE Oil & Gas Arena
on 16th April. 3, 800 fans watched as reigning champion Raymond van Barneveld
battled with current world champion Michael van Gerwin to become the champion.
VisitScotland Expo, Scotland’s premier business-to-business travel trade event, gave companies with Scottish tourism products the perfect platform to showcase their products and services to potential buyers; when it returned to the Venue on 22nd – 23rd of April..
Around 600 international and UK based buyers attended to find out more about the offerings of the exhibitors, representing various sectors of the tourism industry which included hoteliers, visitor attractions and whisky distilleries; including Aberdeen Festivals, the Fairmont St Andrews, Golf Aberdeen City and Shire, Historic Scotland and Trump International.
The Energy Cities Annual Conference; saw political leaders and business delegates meeting and sharing examples of successful energy transition projects, the new business models they are based on and the positive impact they have on the local economy, when the Conference came to the Venue on the 22nd – 23rd April.
On Saturday the 25th April; two fantastic events were held at AECC. The Aberdeen Whisky Festival; which gave visitors access to tasting sessions with over 100 of the best whiskies available to sample, and the Scotland Franchise Show which gave visitors information and support for those looking to become self-employed franchisees.
And it doesn’t stop there – May is another busy month here with a wide range of events including the Coltel Granite City Rally, the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists Conference, DEVEX and the Decom Offshore conference!
