Attending ‘The Scottish Open’ this week?


Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is looking forward to the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open taking place this week on the Centre’s doorstep at Royal Aberdeen Golf Course!

The event takes place from Wednesday 9th to Sunday 13th July; and will welcome big names to Aberdeen including Nick Faldo, defending champion Phil Mickelson and Aberdeen’s very own Paul Lawrie.

Traffic in the Bridge of Don area, and around the AECC, is likely to be busy during this period as a large audience is expected by the Open’s Organisers.

During this time, parking in the AECC site will be for visitors to the Scottish Open, with the main entrance to the Tournament being accessed from the rear of the AECC site, via Public Car Park B.  There is no charge for parking during this event.  Disabled parking is also located in Public Car Park B. Please note that there is a one-way system in place off Parkway East, tuning left into Claymore Drive.

Visitors can also make use of public transport, the First Bus X40 Park & Ride Service can be accessed outside the Molton Brown shop on Union Street; and will take visitors directly to the site. The Park & Ride buses (X40) will stop at the Park & Ride facility at AECC as usual for those wishing to travel from the Kingswells Park & Ride or to catch this bus along its route through the City Centre.

The taxi stance will be located in front of AECC’s Main Entrance (facing Ellon Road). All visitors to AECC on Thursday and Friday who not attending the Scottish Open, are asked to park in AECC’s Car Park 2 however this parking area is expected to be very busy.
