Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is pleased to announce two notable Conferences will be heading to Aberdeen in 2014; The European Student Energy Summit (ESES) will take place in June, and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) European Conference which will take place in December 2014.
The ESES Conference will take place next year on 20th June and is expected to attract around 300 post-secondary students from across Europe from variety of academic background and disciplines. This announcement confirms Aberdeen as the Host City for the Conference’s European Chapter; with Mexico City and Cape Town winning the bid to host for the Latin America and African Chapter events.
The ESES Conference was secured after University of Aberdeen students Malgorzata Olesiewicz and Lora Dimitrova bid for it with support from AECC. The programme will focus on the region; addressing issues and giving delegates an understanding of the role Aberdeen plays in global energy systems and dynamics.
The 2014 IADC Well Control Europe Conference will take place on 2nd and 3rd December, returning to Aberdeen after a successful 2010 Conference at the Centre. This event will focus on recent developments and innovations in technology, techniques, training, management systems, and a variety of other topics affecting well control, and is expected to attract around 200 delegates to the region.
AECC continue to work closely with universities and associations, and will be exhibiting at the Associations Congress next week along with VisitAberdeen. This Congress takes Team Aberdeen to London and will take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster on the 10th and 11th December.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director, commented: “AECC, as the National Energy Exhibition Centre, is delighted to be working with students from the University of Aberdeen to bring the ESES event to the region. We look forward to welcoming the Conference next summer and are very pleased that the IADC have chosen to return to the City for their December 2014 Conference.”
