Working with AECC allowed PINK to reach a bigger audience and raise awareness of the work the charity carries out – Brian Horsburgh, AECC MD
Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) were delighted to work in partnership with local Aberdeen charity for People in Need of Kindness (PINK) over the last year.
PINK exists to support anyone who has been affected in any way by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, within CLAN House, the group meet regularly to provide a support network to anyone touched by cancer, be it themselves personally, family, or a loved-one. Originally set-up in 1982, the charity now has a core membership of over 90 people who attend their monthly meetings.
The group is run by a committee of volunteers who balance the responsibility of organising PINK meetings and events around their own jobs, families and situations.
Over the last twelve months AECC have worked to raise thousands of pounds for PINK through raffles, events and donations, as well as hosting the group’s annual Christmas Fayre at AECC, which in itself raised over £3, 000 for the charity!
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director commented: “AECC were proud to support PINK as our Charity of the Year over the last twelve months. As a smaller charity based in Aberdeen, working with AECC allowed PINK to reach a bigger audience and raise awareness of the work the charity carries out, as well as the monies raised over the year.”
