Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) look forward to hosting the 11th annual DEVEX Conference this coming Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th May 2014.
Having attracted a high level of industry support, DEVEX 2014 will feature the biggest exhibition in the show’s history to-date. In addition to the exhibition, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from both local and international speakers about topical industry research and industry updates.
The event will be opened each morning by prestigious industry expert keynote speakers, Tuesday will feature Pete Jones, Managing Director of TAQA Bratani and Wednesday will see Crawford Anderson, Vice President UK Geomarket, of Baker Hughes opening the day’s proceedings.
After the event closes on Wednesday, delegates will have the opportunity to attend a third day of additional events, with a Workshop looking at cores from different reservoirs and an extended field trip to the Moray Coast.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director says: “We are delighted to host the 11th DEVEX Conference and Exhibition at the Centre, this annual event is always popular for the industry and attracts delegates from world-wide. The Centre last week hosted the Oil & Gas UK Achievement Awards and later this week we will welcome the AFC Player of the Year Dinner, and then All-Energy towards the end of the month.”

Background information on the DEVEX Conference:
DEVEX is run jointly by the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB), the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES) and is supported by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
The DEVEX European Production and Development Conference is designed for geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production technologists, well engineers and drilling engineers. As a key knowledge-sharing event for the oil and gas industry, leaders will pass on their experience and knowledge of projects, innovation and entrepreneurialism in the sector throughout the event.
The associated exhibition will feature approximately 35 stands and specific measures are being put in place to ensure maximum interaction between exhibitors and delegates. Sponsorship opportunities are available. It is anticipated at least 300 delegates will attend this major reservoir development conference and exhibition.
This year’s Conference will feature, for the first time, a combined core workshop and field trip to one of the reservoir core collections held in Aberdeen which will be followed by an afternoon out in the field, at a coastal location, looking at these rocks in situ. Both will be hosted by industry specialists and early booking is advised as places will be limited.
Accredited journalists, reporters and photographers are welcome to attend. Please contact Kate Timperley by calling 01224 330 407, visiting www.devex-conference.org or emailing Devex@aecc.co.uk
