Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is delighted to have retained Gold accreditation from the Green Tourism Programme following a recent audit. AECC is the only event venue in Aberdeen to hold this prestigious Gold award.
As long-term members of the Green Tourism Programme (formerly known as the Green Tourism Business Scheme, GTBS), AECC implement a strategy for continual improvement. Running a sustainable business, with a concentrated focus on the environmental impact of its operation, AECC were awarded the Gold Award for the second time in succession.
Stuart Brain of Green Tourism commented: “David and the sustainability team, are dedicated to ethical thinking and aim to lead by example which is evidenced by excellent recycling practices over the whole site, promotion of local food and drinks, Healthy Eating Award and supplier screening all backed up by strong management of all things sustainable. Overall a business deserving of continued Gold Award status.”
Sustainability is a key focus for AECC and as such, retaining our Gold Award from Green Tourism is a great achievement.
