AECC: Promoting Local Suppliers

Mackies of Scotland

AECC has a policy of sourcing local products from local suppliers wherever practical, this is something we try to implement at all levels of our business across all departments.

At The Script’s concert on Saturday 21st February, we launched our new range of icecream, crisps and confectionery; all of which are produced by Mackies of Scotland, based at Rothienorman in Aberdeenshire.

Mackies is a fourth generation family company with a history spanning one hundred years, with their ‘trademark’ product being the renowned Mackies ice cream.

Aiming to be a successful sustainable business, as one that is self-sufficient in renewable energy and takes care of the land, wildlife, farm animals, staff and local environment in the best way possible, Mackies is the ideal supplier for AECC to partner with.

We have replaced our crisp offering with Mackie’s potato crisps, launched by the company in 2009 and sold in over 22 countries wordwide.  These are made “from plough to pack” in Scotland with locally farmed potatoes and natural flavourings!

We are also pleased to now offer Mackie’s chocolate; available in four different flavours.  These products use many Scottish ingredients including Scottish grown mint, Scottish malt and home-made honeycomb and are produced on machinery supplied by Macintyre Chocolate Systems near Arbroath.

We hope you enjoy these products the next time you visit the Centre!

Remember to let us know your feedback on sustainability@aecc.co.uk we are always interested to hear the views of our clients, customers and friends.
