AECC Hold Gift Bank for Charity of the Year

Throughout November and December, full-time, part-time and casual members of staff at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) were involved in donating presents to a gift bank in aid of AECC’s chosen Charity of the Year, Somebody Care.

Members of staff were encouraged to donate presents for the people helped by the Charity. Gifts varied from nappies, toys and books to bath sets, DVD’s and warm clothing. Somebody Cares is one of the leading charity organisations in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire providing free food, furniture, clothings and much more to the poor, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged people of the area.

Over the Christmas period, 90 volunteers visit 3, 000 homes in Aberdeen to supply families with food bags (worth around £40 each) and this year, they will be delivering some gifts alongside them and for some, this will be the only gifts they receive.

Thank you to all members of staff who donated gifts. This will help lessen the very heavy workload carried by the wonderful volunteers at Somebody Cares at this time of year!
