AECC have been tightening relationships with European clients and recently welcomed conference organisers from two health psychology societies as well as nine key event decision makers from Europe to showcase the region.
Building relationships with clients is a key strategy for AECC as part of the venue’s objective to actively showcase the city of Aberdeen as an events destination. The Team are active in promoting the city to existing and new markets, encouraging event organisers and decision makers to consider the region as the destination for their next event.
Conference organisers and delegates of two health psychology societies arrived in the city for the joint annual conference of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS) and British Psychology Society (BPS).
The event, hosted by the University of Aberdeen, welcomed 800 global visitors to the city throughout the four-day event and marked two milestone anniversaries with EHPS celebrating its 30th annual meeting alongside the Division of Health Psychology within BPS, who promote UK health psychology, celebrating its 30th anniversary of the founding of the division.
Steven Daun, Sales Manager at AECC commented: “The conference created a real buzz in the venue and was a great event for the city. It clearly showcased our strong partnership with the University of Aberdeen, and the fundamental teamwork which is demonstrated by Aberdeen when bringing international events to the region.”
As part of an on-going series of Aberdeen familiarisation trips, key event organisers and decision makers were invited to Aberdeen for the weekend to showcase the region with the aim of securing new events for AECC. Clients were taken on a tour of the city which included show rounds at key North-east venues whilst taking part in local activities, all of which showcased the array of choice available in the city.
AECC’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Louise Lonie commented: “Annual familiarisation trips are incredibly important to the venue and play a large role in the sales and marketing strategy. This year marked the fifth trip AECC have organised, allowing our teams to share their passion for the region with existing and prospective clients as well as building valuable relationships.”
