Lord of the Dance, the international dance phenomenon created by Michael Flatley,
has captivated audiences around the world since 1996. Seen by 60 million people across the globe, Lord of the Dance has shattered box office records worldwide. This show makes another debut with a brand new electrifying production coming to the UK, December 2011 to April 2012.
Audiences both young and old will be captivated by state-of-the-art lighting and pyrotechnics, a spectacular multi-media set design incorporating video screens, elevated platform effects and striking new costumes. This masterfully orchestrated production of precision dancing combined with a musical score that leaves no soul untouched, will thrill theatres across the UK.
From the moment the lights go down to the last encore, you will be taken on a magical, mythical journey inspired by Irish folklore expressed through the universal language of music and dance. The story unfolds of the Little Spirit, travelling through time to help the Lord of the Dance protect his people from the challenge of Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord. As this evil dark force challenges the hero, an incredible adventure ensues, drawing you into a universe full of love, danger, desire, and ultimate triumph. Don’t miss the new production of Lord of the Dance the whole family will enjoy!
Brian Horsburgh, Managing Director at AECC, says, “This will be the third time we have had Lord of the Dance at AECC, it is always a really popular show and we are very much looking forward to bringing this new production to fans in Aberdeen.”
