Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is delighted to have been awarded two silver awards at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA). The prestigious industry awards ceremony and gala dinner took place last week in London, hosted by Meetpie and attended by around 400 people from international destinations.
The awards were open to any organisation involved in the UK meetings and events industry, whether based in the UK or further afield and included finalists from America, Montreal and Berlin.
AECC were thrilled to receive the Silver Award for Best Brand Marketing Campaign, second to Melbourne Convention Bureau who took the gold award, for their local corporate campaign.
In addition, the Centre also received the Silver Award for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign, where finalists included the Ricoh Arena Coventry and JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
The awards are a culmination of an extensive rebranding project undertaken by AECC’s marketing team spear-headed by Head of Communications, Victoria Withy, and Senior PR & Marketing Executive, Sarah Coutts. The team have developed the business’ brand over the past three years, modernising it and ensuring the integration of its values into every area in which AECC operates – which for a company who has to appeal to a variety markets from international conferences to gig-goers, is no mean feat.
Brian Horsburgh, Managing Director at AECC said: “We are honoured to receive these awards, to win one is fantastic but to win two Silver Awards for the marketing of AECC is brilliant and shows that what we do as a Venue is recognised and commended by the industries in which we operate. We are proud of the AECC brand and its heritage both in the international, national and local markets.”
