2015 is shaping up to be quite a year at AECC, with many big names performing at the GE Oil & Gas Arena as well as a wide range of exhibitions including the biennial premier oil and gas event, Offshore Europe!

Your Wedding Exhibition - Woman in a wedding dress holding a YWE white bagThe year kicks off with the annual Your Wedding Exhibition on the weekend of 17th and 18th January; a must-attend for all prospective brides planning their big day. Held at AECC for over 20 years, and housing over 200 exhibitors as well as live fashion shows each day it is the largest wedding show in the North East of Scotland!

The 27th – 29th January sees the return of the Scottish Renewables Offshore Wind and Supply Chain Conference, which explores the stages of developing an offshore wind project and issues affecting the industry.

Subsea Expo returns to AECC on 11th – 13th February.  Organised by Subsea UK, the annual conference and exhibition which welcomed over 5, 300 delegates in 2014 and expect more in 2015, the Subsea UK Awards Dinner coincides with this event which celebrates achievements in the industry including Company of the Year and Young Emerging Talent



Those who are fans of American reality TV show ‘Dance Moms’ will be delighted to hear that Chloe and Christi who found fame on the show will be visiting AECC’s Gordon Suite as part of their Scotland Tour on Saturday 14th February.



21st February sees the return of Irish band The Script, fronted by singer Danny O’Donaghue, to the GE Oil & Gas Arena. This is the third time the band have performed at the Venue, the show will feature support from Labrinth.


The focus on live shows carries into March; X Factor Live Tour is bringing both matinee and evening shows to the Venue Sunday 1st March, with all your favourite songs from the TV programme and performances from the top acts, including winner Ben Haenow.

Instagram_Disney_Onsale The magic continues when Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival arrives at the GE Oil & Gas Arena for a series of eleven shows. You’ll be whisked away into the wintery world of the Academy Award® winning and number one animated feature film of all time, Disney’s Frozen, to join royal sisters Elsa and Anna, the hilarious snowman Olaf, rugged mountain-man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven as they help the sisters along the way in a story full of action, adventure, magic and unforgettable characters, as well as other favourite Disney characters including the Little Mermaid’s Ariel and Sebastian; Tangled’s Rapunzel and Flynn; Beauty and the Beast’s Beast and Belle!

The Scottish Liberal Democrats Spring Conference comes to Aberdeen on 20th – 22nd March for the members Party Political Conference.

In April, the aviation industry’s Routes Europe event brings together a wide range of airlines, airports and tourism authorities. Held at AECC, this event will give Aberdeen City and Shire the chance to showcase the region to the most influential aviaition professionals from across the world when it lands at the Venue on 12th – 14th April.

Darts_FeatureThe 11th season of Premier League Darts, sponsored by Betway, will see the current World Champion Michael van Gerwen defend his title against Raymond van Barneveld and 16-time champion Phil Taylor. The tournament comes to the GE Oil & Gas Arena on Thursday 16th April for week 11 of the 15-week tour of the UK and Ireland’s largest Arenas, which culminates in the crowned winner walking away with £550, 000 prize money.

Scotland’s premier business to business travel trade event, VisitScotland Expo, takes place at AECC on 22nd and 23rd April.  This provides the perfect platform for companies to showcase their Scottish tourism product and service offerings to potential buyers.

For those working in human resources, recruitment and training in the North East of Scotland, Thursday 4th June is a notable date, as the eighth annual cHeRries Awards take place in AECC’s BoydOrr Hall.  Celebrating the very best HR professionals, practices and excellent initiatives from organisations across the Region, this event is one not to be missed for all those involved in HR.

Elton_FeatureOn Saturday 20th June, over 14, 000 fans will descend on AECC to watch Elton John and his Band perform live in a specially constructed open-air arena!  The tour will feature iconic hits and classic album tracks from throughout his incredible five-decade career, including a selection of songs from his highly acclaimed album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a Deluxe Edition. Elton said: “When I was told I had the opportunity to return to Aberdeen I jumped at it. Ten years is too long!”

The largest show of its kind in the North East of Scotland, the Scottish Kids Show will be at AECC on 27th and 28th June.  Promising to be a fun and informative day out for all the family; the show caters for everyone with children in their lives, from pregnancy up to 16 years old!
Offshore Europe 2015

The biennial Offshore Europe event returns to AECC on 8th – 11th September for its 31st year. This leading international E&P event attracts a global audience of engineers, technical specialists, industry leaders and experts as part of this four-day conference and exhibition.



Scottish Home SHow

The Scottish Home Show is set to return to the Venue on 25th – 27th September this year.  Now in its fourth year, this show is the largest and most exciting home improvement event in the North East; aimed at everyone from serious home enthusiasts to those who like to shop from unique ranges.  The event showcases the best in homes, design, improvements and accessories.

October and November spells comedy season at the GE Oil & Gas Arena, as both Kevin Bridges and Michael McIntyre visit the Venue for eleven nights of comedy!  Dubbed one of Scotland’s biggest comedy exports Kevin Bridges  brings his brand new tour ‘A Whole Different Story…’  to AECC on 7th – 12th October, before returning for another three nights on 13th – 15th November!

Michael McIntyre will be Happy & Glorious on 26th and 25th November, as he performs at the Venue for the third time, bringing special guest Paul Tonkinson on this Tour of the UK and Ireland.




The highlight for December is the return of Simply Red on Sunday 6th, who will be performing their Big Love World Tour; celebrating their 30 year anniversary!

With around 600 events already booked for 2015, the Team at AECC are looking forward to a busy year.  We hope to see you here!
