British singer/songwriter James Morrison will be appearing in front of a crowd of 4,700 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (AECC’s) Press & Journal Arena on Friday, 4th December 2009.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director said, “It is fantastic news to hear such a talented British star is coming to the AECC for the first time. I am sure his fans will be eager to see him perform at the AECC.”
Morrison's debut album, "Undiscovered," went to No.1 in Britain, Top 20 in America and sold over two million copies worldwide, and he became the top-selling British male solo artist of 2006.
In 2007, Morrison was nominated for 3 BRIT Awards and won the Best British Male Solo Artist category. Other nominations included the Best British Breakthrough Act and the Best British Single Shortlist.
He released his second album, Songs for You, Truths for Me in 2008, which entered the top five in the UK. The album featured the top ten singles "You Make It Real" and his critically acclaimed collaboration with Nelly Furtado titled "Broken Strings."
Grammy-nominated American pop rock band One Republic will be supporting James Morrison on tour. They have drawn mainstream attention with the release of their single “Apologize,” which has sold in excess of 7 million singles worldwide.
