History

The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) opened in 1985, primarily to provide a permanent venue for the biennial Offshore Europe Exhibition and Conferences. Since opening, both the variety and volume of events taking place at the Centre has grown significantly and includes international congresses, trade and public exhibitions, rock and pop concerts, live sporting events, award dinners, corporate dinner dances and small meetings.

The Centre underwent an £18 million redevelopment and expansion, which was completed in April 2003. This positioned the AECC as a truly world-class facility, ideal for any event from small company meetings to major international congresses.
