Nominated Charity
Leukaemia Research is the only charity in the UK dedicated exclusively to researching blood cancers and disorders including leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and other lymphomas, and myeloma.
Anyone, at any age, can be diagnosed with a blood cancer. 24,500 people in the UK are diagnosed every year. This vital charity is committed to giving every one of them the best chance of survival. Their scientists and doctors work in over fifty top research centres across the UK. They are seeking to improve diagnosis of blood disorders and treatments for patients, and to find a cure for blood cancers. They support patients, their families and friends by providing them with a free information service including a range of over 40 publications. However, they don’t receive any Government funding and therefore rely totally on the generosity and support of volunteers and people willing to help.
