Environmental Policy
The AECC recognise compliance with environmental legislation as a minimum. It is the Centre’s aim to continually reduce waste and energy consumption throughout business activities while reusing and recycling whenever possible. The AECC follows a policy designed to reduce, wherever possible, the negative impacts on the environment through measuring, monitoring and reviewing of activities along with staff determination.
AECC management are committed to this programme and have a dedicated Green Team (voluntary member of each department) who meet regularly to discuss green issues, suggest improvements within the workplace and communicate to their respective departments and senior management.

Building Management System - effectively regulating energy use throughout the building
Low energy light bulbs & reflectors fitted
Transport -Promotion of public transport, walking and cycling
Company cars Toyota Prius (electric/petrol hybrid)
Use of mainly local suppliers
Offsetting of necessary business travel
Water
Low flow urinals
Reduced flush toilets
Monthly quality tests
Waste
Recycling of paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and batteries through a regulated waste contractor
Minimise paper use in office by only printing when necessary, double sided printing and use of scrap paper as notepads
The AECC has a Silver Award with the Green Tourism Business Scheme and is a member of the Business Environment Partnership.
